Regular Council Meeting Highlights for March 23, 2026
Council approved the Strategic Plan 2026–2029, setting priorities to guide decision-making and community growth.
Focused on intentional growth and meaningful connection, the plan outlines key commitments to civic responsibility, collaborative leadership, community building, and economic opportunity. Progress will be reviewed quarterly to ensure the Town remains responsive to community needs and opportunities.

2025 Post Municipal Election Update
Council received the Post Election Update for information, summarizing the administration of the 2025 municipal and school board election.
Despite significant legislative changes, the election was successfully delivered with a strong focus on accessibility, voter experience, and transparency. A total of 15 candidates ran for Councillor, with voter turnout at 19.6%. All candidates met their campaign disclosure and financial reporting requirements.

Citizen at Large Board Appointment
Council approved two citizen-at-large appointments to local boards. Paul Befus was appointed to a one-year term on the Stony Plain Library Board ending December 31, 2026.
Pat Hansard was appointed to a one-year term on the Culture and Tourism Roundtable (CTR) as the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce representative, ending December 31, 2026.
