Focus:

The Community and Social Development Roundtable (CSDR) exists to assist the Town in increasing community participation in programs and events related to community and social development, identify opportunities for collaboration in advancing community and social development strategies, and share insights into enhancements for community and social development and problem-solve with respect to identified gaps.

Term:

2 year term with the option to be re-appointed for an additional term.

Focus:

The Culture and Tourism Roundtable (CTR) makes recommendations to Council with regards to culture and tourism development within the Town of Stony Plain. The CTR includes artists, cultural stakeholders, and public representatives with a passion for arts, culture and tourism.

Term:

2 year term with the option to be re-appointed for an additional term.

Meetings:

The second Wednesday of January, March, May, June, September and November from 4:30PM-6:00PM at Town Hall. Public members may be required to Chair meetings.

Focus:

The Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) assists Town Council and Administration in an advisory capacity by considering and providing feedback on matters relating to land use planning and policy as well as the development and growth of the town and community. As a committee member you will provide your views, thoughts, ideas, and suggestions on community plans, land use matters, development proposals, and sustainability initiatives as a member of the community to give both Council and Administration community-based input from diverse local perspectives to help them make decisions and maintain communication with the community.  

Term:

2 year term with the option to be re-appointed for an additional term.

Meetings:

Quarterly meetings and as requested by Council or Administration. Public members may be required to Chair meetings.

Focus:

The Policing Committee exists to act in an advisory capacity on policing matters to the Officer In Charge and Council, and as a representative of the interests of the residents of the community. Committee members will be ambassadors for the communities policing services. The specific duties, functions and responsibilities of the Committee will be governed by Government of Alberta Acts and associated Regulations, and by the Town bylaws. Committee members are required to pass an enhanced security clearance.

Term:

Terms of 2 and 3 years.

Focus:

The Town of Stony Plain Library Board (SPLB) manages, regulates and controls the Stony Plain Public Library

Term:

3 year term with a maximum of three consecutive terms.

Meetings:

Third Wednesday of every month.

• Three public members - may be a resident of Stony Plain or Parkland County 

Focus:

The SDAB operates as an independent and impartial administrative tribunal. It hears appeals from a decision of the Subdivision Authority or Development Authority and makes decisions based on the evidence presented at the hearing.

Term:

3 year term with a maximum of two consecutive terms.

Meetings:

Thursday evening when an appeal is filed. Public members may be required to Chair meetings.

Two Vacancies - Apply now for the SDAB

• Two public members - must be a resident of Stony Plain

Focus:

The Tri-Municipal Leisure Facility Board works to make sure the TLC is, and continues to be, a champion of community involvement in the Tri-Municipal Region.

Term:

3 year term with a maximum of two consecutive terms.

Meetings:

Second Thursday of every month.
