The Town of Stony Plain’s 2019 Annual Report is now complete. Released annually, the report informs residents of major milestones, initiatives, and projects within Stony Plain, while providing clear and accurate financial reporting to the public.
Phase IV of Downtown Redevelopment is progressing with the recent warm weather. Underground work at 51 Avenue has been completed and surface work is underway.

The Town has been informed that access to 50 Avenue at the intersection of 48 Street is currently closed for Alberta Transportation’s Highway 779 construction project. The intersection is scheduled to be paved and reopened to traffic by end of day Wednesday, July 29.
Alberta Transportation’s (AT) Highway 779 Project continues with grade widening between 57 Avenue and 55 Avenue. Curb and gutters are scheduled to be poured this Friday (June 26) and Saturday (June 27).
Judy Bennett Appointed Deputy Mayor. Councillor Judy Bennett has been appointed as the acting Deputy Mayor as of last night’s meeting.
The Town has been informed by Alberta Transportation (AT) that both southbound lanes of 48 Street between 55 Avenue and 57 Avenue will be closed on Friday, June 19 to accommodate concrete pouring for the Highway 779 project. While lanes are closed, traffic will be shifted to the centre northbound lane and northbound traffic will be restricted to the outside lane only.
Downtown Redevelopment is moving forward with the installation of the water main on the east side of 50 Avenue. Concrete work for the sidewalk west on 50 Avenue is now complete.
