Land Use Bylaw Update 2024 – Bylaw 2686/LUO/24 Receives Second and Third Readings. The Land Use Bylaw (LUB) undergoes annual updates to make administrative adjustments and put strategic plans into action.
STONY PLAIN, AB:. Council is pleased to announce the updated 2024-2027 release of the Strategic Plan, which was approved at last night’s meeting.
Kinsmen Club of Stony Plain 2023 Updates Presented to Council. Annually the Kinsmen present the successes of the last year to Council, particularly the Kinsmen Christmas Hampers.

Stony Plain issued 381 building and development permits in 2023, representing a 5% increase over the previous year (363) and demonstrating the industry’s resilience and adaptability in navigating evolving market conditions. 1 permit was issued for new commercial development and 5 for new industrial projects, a slight decrease compared to 2022.
Councillor Harold Pawlechko Appointed Deputy Mayor. The Deputy Mayor is a member of Council who is appointed by Council to act as Mayor in the absence or incapacity of the Mayor.

Subdivision and Development Appeal Board Bylaw Receives First, Second and Third Readings. At last night’s meeting, Council considered changes to the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (SDAB) bylaw (2685/G/24), to enhance its effectiveness.
Westerra Stage 18 Land Use Bylaw Amendment Receives Second and Third Readings. The Westerra Stage 18 Land Use Bylaw Amendment received its first reading on January 8, 2024.
Please be advised that road work will be taking place on High Park Road, off Hwy 628 (79 Ave) starting tomorrow, February 9 into February 10 with traffic reduced to 1 lane. Speed reduction will be in place along Hwy 628 (79 Ave) while workers are present.
